The Central Asia Hydrometeorology Modernization Project is a regional project with the total cost of US$ 27.7 mln to be implemented by three entities. The Project will include the following 3 components:
- Component A “Strengthening regional coordination and informational sharing”
- Component B “Strengthening of Hydromet services in Kyrgyz Republic”
- Component C “Strengthening of Hydromet services in the Republic of Tajikistan”
The Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving Aral Sea (EC-IFAS) has received financing in the amount of US$ 8.7 million equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Component A “Strengthening Regional Coordination and Informational Sharing” of the Central Asia Hydrometeorology Modernization Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004 edition, revised in October 2006 and May 2010), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition, revised in October 2006 and May 2010).
Specific Procurement Notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and on the web-site of EC-IFAS (www.ec-ifas.org) for Component A, on the web-site of the Agency for Hydrometeorology under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic (www.meteo.ktnet.kg) for Component B, and on the web-site of the State Agency of Hydrometeorology of the Republic of Tajikistan (www.meteo.tj) for Component C.
